Garyu Sakura, which literally means “reclining dragon cherry”, was named as such because its trunk looks like a dragon lying on the ground. The tree is over 1100 years old, with its branches spreading 30m in length, and its height reaching up to 20m, making it a giant Edohigan-zakura tree that is one of the finest in Japan.
