Kanazawa, the castle town of the Kaga Domain. With places like Kenrokuen Garden, known for the kotoji stone lanterns and yukitsuri snow ropes in winter, former samurai residences, the Chaya District and temple districts giving charm to the town, the traditional arts and crafts and food, which were encouraged to be developed by the heads of the Maeda clan of the Kaga Domain, continue to be preserved here. On the other hand, there are also many new things that have been birthed here, for example Kanazawa Station, the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum, and the D.T. Suzuki Museum, which have been attracting much attention from both within Japan and abroad.
Kanazawa will continue to evolve with new charms by synchronizing the old spirit of Japan with new senses.
