NAGANO City
This sports arena was used as the competition venue for speed skating in the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, a venue for the opening and closing ceremonies and competition venue for the ice sledge racing of the same year Paralympics.
It is now used as a multi-purpose arena that corresponds with various needs including sports, entertainment and other events during summer, and as a public skating center and a qualified skating competition venue for international matches during winter. Its characteristic repeated M-shaped roof resembles the mountains of the Shinshu region.
The facility includes the Nagano Olympics Museum, which can be viewed free of charge.
